Real Reason AEW Scrapped This Dynamite Match Last Night

This AEW Dynamite match was conspicuous by its absence last night. Here's why...

AEW Dynamite cancelled
AEW

The previously advertised FTR vs. Lee Johnson and Brock Anderson match didn't end up happening on last night's episode of AEW Dynamite.

Setup by last week's backstage segment in which Arn Anderson, Johnson, and Brock were accosted by Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood, and Tully Blanchard backstage, furthering the tension that has simmered between the former Brain Busters since both of them entered AEW, the bout ended up being scrapped due to medical protocols.

This is according to The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online's Dave Meltzer. There is currently no word on which man, exactly, failed the protocols, though AEW hopes to be able to rebook the match soon.

Announced last week, FTR vs. Anderson and Johnson quietly disappeared from AEW's promotion of last night's Dynamite as the show drew nearer. Eventually, it had to be scrapped. Johnson and Anderson were also due to score a warm-up win on this week's episode of AEW Dark that didn't make the YouTube show (despite being taped last weekend).

A previously unadvertised Lance Archer vs. Frankie Kazarian match took place on Dynamite, potentially taking the spot intended for the cancelled bout, though this hasn't been confirmed.
