Real Reason CM Punk Wants AJ Lee Wrestling Return

Here's why CM Punk is totally up for seeing some AJ Lee matches in AEW.

CM Punk says he "can't promise" that fans will ever see AJ Lee in AEW, but the comeback king would like to see it happen himself.

Punk told ESPN SportsNation that AJ is currently "doing her own thing". Despite that, and despite the fact she hasn't wrestled a match since teaming with Naomi and Paige vs. Natalya and The Bella Twins on the 30 March 2015 episode of WWE Raw, he's half-tempted to try and talk her into a return to the ring.

His reasons are wholly selfish, which Punk is happy to admit.

The All Elite star said that Lee would go "gung-ho" if she agreed to a match. That'd make him happy, because "I like her thick". Punk, of course, was referring to the idea that AJ "would want to get into stupid shape" for a match; the one ESPN pitched was Punk and Lee vs. Adam Cole and Britt Baker.

Basically, Punk loves when his wife puts her mind to something and trains hard. Jokingly, he added, "I don’t want to take that away from myself".

Could some AJ Lee action hit AEW in 2022? Don't rule it out.
