Real Reason Edge Disappeared After WWE WrestleMania 37
Here's why Edge hasn't been on WWE television since April.
Edge is currently taking what Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp describes as "planned time off" from WWE television.
Sapp reported as much during a Q&A session hosted on Fightful Select, addressing a question asking if the Hall of Famer was being kept off television due to an injury or if WWE were holding off on bringing him back until crowds return.
Edge hasn't been seen since WrestleMania 37's second night (11 April), when he challenged for Roman Reigns' Universal Championship in a Triple Threat also featuring the since-released Daniel Bryan. Reigns ended up pinning both challengers simultaneously to retain his belt.
There's currently no word on when Edge might return to WWE television. The veteran has wrestled on both Raw and SmackDown this year, having made his comeback from injury by winning the men's Royal Rumble in January, and has also appeared on NXT as part of his post-Rumble tour.
January 2020 saw Edge make a heart-stopping comeback in that year's Rumble, returning to WWE action for the first time in the best part of nine years. A torn triceps suffered while wrestling Randy Orton at Backlash 2020 then kept him sidelined for over seven months.
