Having been laid out by a mystery attacker and then kicked out of Fatal Influence on this week's NXT, it's been confirmed that Jazmyn Nyx is departing WWE.

PWInsider was the first to report that Nyx has chosen to leave the market leader, noting that she'd actually turned down an offer to re-sign with WWE.

Taking to various social media platforms, including Instagram, Jazmyn confirmed that she's leaving WWE, that this was her decision, and that she was indeed offered a three-year contract to stay with the company. Fightful Select adds that her existing contract is up in October, meaning she'll formally become a free agent next month.

Nyz explained that this was a "personal decision", noting that the three-year deal offered to her "just wasn't going to cut it for me financially". The 27-year-old talked about how she'd previously played soccer in Iceland, and that she had to leave all of that behind when she was recruited by WWE. She then mentioned how she was "kind of held back in the beginning", citing four knee surgeries, a broken nose, and a concussion. Jazmyn also said that there have been "a lot of opportunities" she's had to pass on during her time with WWE, and that she can now "explore these opportunities more and take them more seriously."

The real-life Jade Gentile wrapped up her video post by thanking the fans who've had her back for the past three years, but reiterating "that is it for Jazmyn Nyx", which would indicate, at least for the foreseeable future, that she's done with professional wrestling and done with the Nyx character.

As alluded to, Gentile played soccer - or, y'know, football - during her time at West Virginia University before then joining Icelandic club UMF Afturelding in 2022. The New Yorker would sign with WWE later that same year, taking on the Jazmyn Nyx moniker and making her in-ring debut in August 2023.

Nyz's final match with WWE was in the main event of the NXT Homecoming special last week, where Fatal Influence lost to Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, and Tiffany Stratton, with Ripley scoring the win after hitting the Rip Tide on Jacy Jayne.

While Jazmyn Nyx was attacked off-screen by an unknown assailant on NXT this week, writing her off TV and out of Fatal Influence, there was some implication that Lainey Reid was being lined up as a new member of that faction. Purely spitballing from your writer, but it may well be that Reid is revealed as Nyz's attacker, in turn taking her spot alongside Jayne and Fallon Henley.
