Real Reason LA Knight Didn't Appear On WWE SmackDown Last Night
'The Megastar' was absent from last night's blue show because...
LA Knight missed last night's Friday Night SmackDown after testing positive for COVID-19.
This was confirmed by Fightful, with Sean Ross Sapp taking to X to explain that 'The Megastar' tested positive just before this week's blue show and had to exit the building after initially being part of the night's main event segment.
Fightful has confirmed with WWE sources and those to him that LA Knight tested positive for COVID just before WWE Smackdown, and had to leave the building.

With Knight not being able to appear, the main event angle instead saw John Cena getting destroyed by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa after 'Super Cena's Fastlane tag partner AJ Styles was taken out by The Bloodline earlier in the evening.
The Slim Jim battle royal winner was originally set to make a surprise appearance during the contract signing and save Cena from the beatdown before teaming with the Hollywood superstar in a dark match after the show.
Originally, LA Knight was listed as being involved in tonight's contract signing. Knight was listed as a surprise to help John Cena.

It remains to be seen whether Knight will find his way into that incoming two-on-two PLE showdown. Though his recent interactions with Paul Heyman on SmackDown suggest that 'The Megastar' could very much collide with Roman Reigns and his Bloodline at some point.
For now, though, everyone here at WhatCulture wishes the white hot babyface a swift recovery - YEAH!
