Reason Why The Undertaker And LeBron James Didn't Meet
Even The Deadman needs an appointment.
It seems that LeBron James is maybe not the wrestling fan we thought he was. Over the summer he was seen wearing an Undertaker shirt before Game 5 of the NBA Finals, and the photo of it quickly went viral.
As the Cleveland Cavaliers returned for their championship ring ceremony, WWE had sent The Undertaker, his wife Michelle McCool and The Ultimate Warrior's family to try and get a photo-op with the NBA superstar. It didn't happen.
Joe Vardon, a Cleveland sports, reporter filled in why that may have been.
Here's a life lesson. If you don't have an appointment, don't already know James personally, aren't a business associate or a small child, the odds of "meeting" James before or after a Cavs game in or near the locker room are not great.
Vardon also explained that James doesn't like people trying to "make money or fame through him," which is what WWE clearly had in mind here.
This is an embarrassing situation on WWE's part, and is unfortunate that the Undertaker had to apparently stand outside the locker room for an hour in the hopes that James would come out to meet him. A bid sad really.
Hopefully next time, WWE's PR department at least makes a phone call to see if they're welcome.
