The backlash from Sunday night's Royal Rumble has been utterly brutal. Discontent has spread far and wide throughout the WWE Universe who felt this pay per view was one of the worst in the company's history. The crowd in Philly turned toxic at the sight of what played out before their eyes while many of those who subscribed to the WWE Network especially for the event have cancelled their subscriptions as the #CancelWWENetwork movement gathers pace on Twitter. The initial booking for the whole event needs to be questioned. Having no less than four tag team matches is never going to work, no matter the company or the talent available at their disposal. Three of those matches, with the WWE Tag Team Championship bout aside, meant absolutely nothing which made things worse. All rivalries were put to one side as it seems the WWE's creative team ran out of ideas as to how to fill the event's card. The disregard WWE is showing towards their titles is becoming farcical. We barely get to see WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and this exclusivity is working its way down the card. Ryback and Rusev have been clashing heads in recent weeks so why wasn't their a showdown for the United States Championship? We know now that the Bulgarian Brute played a huge part in the Rumble match so not having him work twice in one night is understandable, but Bad News Barrett didn't play a leading role in the 30 man event so why wasn't his Intercontinental Championship put on the line? It seems Roman Reigns is the Golden Goose and there's nothing that will change this fact. We're just going to have to grin and bear it for the foreseeable future and hope it all works out. The Rumble match itself was the biggest kick to the proverbial groin for the WWE Universe, so here's a rebooked version that would have left the paying customer going home happier, hopefully.
