Rebooking WWE WrestleMania X-Seven's Gimmick Battle Royal For Modern Times

1. The Boogeyman

Yes, the man (or creature) that defeated King Booker and Queen Sharmell at WrestleMania 22 should absolutely beat them again to win the second Gimmick Battle Royal.

Martin Wright was originally a contestant on the fourth season of Tough Enough, but was cut from the show when producers found out he had lied about his age. However, he impressed WWE enough to earn an invite to their developmental system and, in October 2005, Wright debuted on SmackDown as "The Boogeyman".

A clock-bashing, invertabrate-eating monstrosity, The Boogeyman wrestled just 22 televised matches for WWE but his distinctive look and one-of-a-kind personality (plus the fact that could swallow a worm without gagging) made him one of the most recognisable and oddly-popular stars of the last twenty years.

The Boogeyman could easily have existed in the mid-1980s but the fact that he only left WWE in 2009 is a true blessing as it means he more than qualifies for this match. The perfect example of a "gimmick" (for better and for worse) and with a ready made storyline in place, The Boogeyman shouldn't just be in this modern Gimmick Battle Royal, he should win the whole thing.
