Released Star Teases Surprise WWE Comeback

This former WWE star turned down a one-off return before, but things have changed.

Cassie Lee can look back on her WWE run as Peyton Royce between 2015-2021 fondly now, but that wasn't always the case. It's 2024 though, so the former IIconics star has a different perspective on life and isn't ruling out a return someday.

She told 'Ring The Belle' that she's definitely "open" to a comeback, and even pinpointed the 2025 Royal Rumble match as a potential launching point for her second stint with WWE. Interestingly, Cassie and old IIconics partner Billie Kay "said no" the last time WWE came calling.

Explaining, Lee said both "were still pretty hurt about [being released]" in 2021. Neither woman was mentally ready to make that step, but things have changed. Cassie revealed she "feels healed now", and says she'd "love" to pursue any opportunities with WWE if they came calling again.

Fingers crossed, eh?

Cassie and Kay worked together in IMPACT/TNA before Lee took some time off to become a mother. She returned to the ring in October 2023 though, so fans shouldn't rule out seeing The IIconics in some form or fashion again. Would Triple H be into it? Never say never.
