Repackaged WWE Star Returns To Old Gimmick On Next Week's SmackDown?

WWE taped next week's SmackDown on Friday, and fans there live spotted something interesting.

Butch Pete Dunne

WWE taped next week's episode of SmackDown on Friday night, and fans there live made an interesting observation on social media.

Some supporters claim that Butch, who wrestled Ludwig Kaiser, had his old singlet on instead of WWE's white vest and braces. In other words, this could be a sign that Triple H fancies bringing back the old Pete Dunne look and ditching WWE's 'mini-Sheamus' look.

The company pre-taped next week's Smackers due to the fact they'll be in Cardiff, Wales for Clash At The Castle on 3 September. That Saturday night stadium show needs a lot of attention, so it makes sense that they doubled up on blue brand content this week.

Of course, that'll mean most fans find out what happened on the show, but it's unavoidable.

Few will be disappointed to learn that Dunne appeared in his singlet anyway. Triple H's creative team has moved away from the tantrum gimmick he was working beforehand since assuming control, and this could be a tease that ye olde 'Bruiserweight' is on the comeback trail.

For the record, Pete is still going by the Butch name. For now...
