New details on potential NXT involvement in WWE's 2021 Draft, which starts this week.

The 2021 WWE Draft kicks off on this week's episode of SmackDown (1 October) and while WWE's plans are far from concrete at the moment, the promotion may be planning on moving several wrestlers from NXT to Raw or SmackDown.

This is according to Dave Meltzer. Speaking on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, he claims to have been told that "many" wrestlers from WWE's developmental brand are currently in line to be drafted out of a desire to freshen things up on the talent rosters.

Nothing has been determined yet outside of where WWE's "key guys" will land, though. These NXT plans, like everything else, could change by the time SmackDown hits the air.

Meltzer noted that people from FOX and USA Network know a few things about what will happen across the Draft's two nights. Beyond this, it seems that much remains up in the air.

The 2021 WWE Draft will conclude on next week's episode of Raw (5 October). This will be the company's first total roster re-shuffle since October 2020, though that year's Draft proved underwhelming, with only 20 of the 50 televised picks resulting in a wrestler or tag team actually moving brands.
