Report: AEW Planning ANOTHER Major Debut/Return For Collision

CM Punk might not be the only major surprise AEW has lined up for Collision.

AEW's upcoming Saturday show, Collision, is expected to debut on 17 June, with CM Punk and what sounds like another major surprise lined up for the event.

Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Collision's debut episode will likely feature Punk and "what is expected to be either another major name, debut, or return."

Building on previous reports, Meltzer states that Collision's maiden voyage will emanate from Chicago, IL's United Center. The 17 June show will air from 8-10 PM Eastern, likely on TNT. An official announcement on Collision is expected around the time of Warner Bros. Discovery's upfronts, 17 May.

If AEW is to split its rosters between Dynamite and Collision, as has been reported, Dynamite will be headed by The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club, while Punk and FTR will be on the new show. Chris Jericho has also been rumoured for Collision, with the idea being that Punk will need a strong opponent.

Punk remains indefinitely suspended by AEW following his role in the post-All Out 2022 brawl last September, though a planned meeting between himself, Jericho, and FTR "went well" last week.
