Report: CM Punk's AEW Debut Plans Revealed?

Could All Elite Wrestling debut CM Punk to a monster pop in his hometown?

All Elite Wrestling wants CM Punk to appear at one of its three upcoming shows in Chicago, Illinois.

This is, of course, the former WWE Champion's hometown.

Bodyslam's Cassidy Haynes reports that AEW "100%" wants Punk at one of these events, describing the situation as a matter of "when," rather than "if". At the moment, Tony Khan and co. are attempting to decide which of the three shows would make the most sense for an appearance.

All Out 2021 (5 September) would be the biggest of the three Chicago shows. It will be preceded by Dynamite (1 September) and Rampage (3 September) in what will be a busy week for AEW in the Windy City. All three go down in the NOW Arena (formerly Sears Center), where AEW held All Out 2019.

Fightful Select broke the news that Punk was in talks for an in-ring return last week, with AEW the likeliest destination. This has been followed by multiple stories on the matter - including one from the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer stating that people within WWE consider it a done deal.

Whether or not Punk appearing for AEW in Chicago will happen remains to be seen, though the pop would be monstrous.
