Report: Kairi Sane's WWE Status Is "Complicated"
Japanese star moving towards non-wrestling role?
Kairi Sane's status in WWE is said to be "complicated" after her latest injury.
This is according to Fightful Select, who report that WWE had previously planned to have Sane head back to her native Japan and work as a brand ambassador there. This may or may not have impacted her in-ring career, though the new role is now up in the air due to the ongoing global health crisis, which has stifled the promotion's plans for international expansion.
The report states that some people within WWE have gone "radio silent" on Sane's status, though there are many who want her to continue wrestling. This was the case in May, with the general consensus positive, though there's no word on whether or not the situation has changed over the past month.
Sane hasn't wrested since suffering a nasty head injury while competing against Nia Jax on 26 May. This came just weeks after 'The Irresistible Force' hit Sane with a reckless botched 'buckle bomb, resulting in WWE banning the move outright.
Kairi had previously missed a month of action after suffering a concussion at TLC 2019, though there was no indication then that her in-ring career was in jeopardy.
