There are currently no plans in place for Triple H to return to WWE in any kind of creative capacity, including NXT, according to Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Understandably, this is down to health issues. The 52-year-old was hospitalised with what was described as a "cardiac event" in September 2021, necessitating surgery. Updates on his condition have been few and far between since then, though Meltzer described Triple H's situation as "very, very serious" in November.

While all of this could change should Triple H's health improve, people within WWE have been informed that he won't be returning imminently.

Obviously, the most important thing at the moment is that Triple H - a married man with three children - focuses on his health.

Shawn Michaels has assumed a prominent NXT role in Triple H's absence. WWE are reportedly "very happy" with the work he has done in developmental, as pressure is high for him to quickly make new stars. Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, LA Knight, Grayson Waller, and Tony D'Angelo are cited as his success stories in the report. In particular, HBK has been praised for his understanding of how to make potential stars stand out and his general aptitude for the creative process.
