Report: Top AEW Stars In Long-Term Contract Extension Talks
Is AEW set to lock one of its top, top acts down to long-term deals?
The Young Bucks and AEW have been in negotiations to lock Matt and Nick Jackson down to new contracts, reports Fightful Select.
Details are scarce beyond the knowledge that discussions have taken place. Talk of this has travelled through the company's locker room, with sources indicating that the Bucks and AEW have discussed deals that would keep the Executive Vice Presidents in the promotion for "quite some time." Whether or not terms have been agreed upon yet is unclear, however.
AEW officials had not responded to Fightful's request for more information at the time of publishing.
It is believed that the Bucks initially signed three-year AEW contracts with an additional two-year option in January 2019. Tony Khan ended up triggering that extension, with the Bucks landing pay rises in the process. Previously, the Bucks had claimed during an episode of Being The Elite that their initial AEW contracts were for four years.
Details on AEW contracts after regularly the subject of similar uncertainty, so it'll be interesting to see how things play out with the Bucks, who not only serve as EVPs in AEW, but one of the company's most important television acts too.
