Report: Top WWE Star Has "Hard Out" On Contract
This top WWE name might not be around much longer...
Ronda Rousey may depart from WWE in the not-too-distant future, as it has been revealed the multi-time Women's Champion has a "hard out" on her contract.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rousey's finish date is sometime prior to WrestleMania XL (6-7 April 2024). Though the exact date is unclear, Ronda has exercised the "hard out" and has already informed WWE when her last date will be.
Rousey's tag team partner, Shayna Baszler, turned on Ronda at Money in the Bank 2023 this Saturday (1 July). Meltzer notes that this was always the plan. WWE had placed the duo together as a tag team with the ultimate goal of having them split and feud, which is something Rousey has always wanted to do. Ronda's real-life friendship with Shayna predates their time in WWE, going back to their MMA days, with Baszler ultimately responsible for getting Rousey into wrestling.
In the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online Daily Update, Meltzer stated that Rousey will be leaving WWE "sometime relatively soon."
Baszler and Rousey dropped the Women's Tag Team Championships to Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan thanks to Shayna's MITB betrayal.
