Finn Balor wrestled Rey Mysterio on this Monday's episode of WWE Raw, stepping back into the ring for the first time since suffering a mid-match injury opposite Edge at WrestleMania 39 (2 April) - and the bout sparked concern.

Fightful Select reports that because Balor was apparently "banged up" heading into the match, some backstage were concerned about Finn wrestling Mysterio on Raw.

Balor, 41, defeated Mysterio in a shade under 14 minutes this Monday, effectively continuing The Judgment Day's long-running feud with the lucha legend. This came just eight days after the brutal Edge match, in which Balor was administered a numbing agent before having his head stapled shut, all thanks to a nasty mid-match gash.

Finn suffered the wound after Edge threw a chair at him. The cut was closed, at least temporarily, grinding the Hell In A Cell clash to a halt for a few minutes.

Post-Raw, Balor tweeted that he beat Mysterio with "14 Staples STILL in my head":-

Rey faced son Dominik at WrestleMania 39, defeating his offspring in a wild match heavy on ringside shenanigans. This week's Raw suggests the feud is far from over.
