Report: WWE Creative Has Nothing For Rusev

Here's why 'The Bulgarian Brute' hasn't been on television lately.

Rusev Disappointed
WWE

If you have been wondering why Rusev hasn't been on WWE television a whole lot lately, here's the answer: creative apparently has nothing for him.

This is according to Dave Meltzer who, on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, stated that WWE's colossal writing team haven't been able to come up with anything for 'The Bulgarian Brute' to do, despite featuring heavily on their programming over the last few months.

The "love square" storyline also involving Bobby Lashley has seemingly turned into a Liv Morgan vs. Lana singles feud recently. With Ruby Riott's return on this week's Raw, it may now be over entirely.

Rusev was originally set to compete in this year's Royal Rumble match, only for WWE to pull him out with the explanation that he and Lashley had been brawling backstage. This suggested that their personal rivalry was set to continue. Now, it would appear that this isn't the case.

If true, it's a disappointing situation for the former United States Champion to find himself in, particularly when considering just how over he was throughout the maligned romance storyline. Here's hoping creative come up with something fresh for him soon.
