Report: WWE Has "Forgotten About" Aleister Black

Aleister Black left in purgatory following wife Zelina Vega's recent WWE departure.

If you're wondering where Aleister Black has been over the past few weeks, it seems WWE has "forgotten about" the hard-hitting former NXT Champion.

This is the word of Dave Meltzer. Speaking on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, he commented that things "don't look good" for the Dutchman at the moment, noting the lack of internal follow-up on Aleister's recent request to go back down to NXT.

"The people in charge now don't see anything in him," Meltzer added. "It's tough, he's a talented guy."

Black hasn't wrestled since being sent to SmackDown as part of the 2020 WWE Draft in October. His last match was a rivalry-ending No Disqualification bout with Kevin Owens, which he lost in around 12 minutes. Black ended up going 0-3 over the course of their midcard feud.

Aleister's real-life wife, Zelina Vega, recently left WWE after failing to adhere to the company's third-party content ban. As Vega was reportedly making more money from streaming on platforms like Twitch than through her professional wrestling activities, she ended up choosing the former. Her situation has since reignited the unionisation debate in the sport.
