Retired WWE Star Regrets Never Telling Vince McMahon "NO!"
This ex-WWE wrestler wishes he'd knocked back one infamous McMahon idea.
Diamond Dallas Page has told 'The Angle Podcast' that he wishes he'd stood up from the table, thanked Vince McMahon for his time and knocked back WWE's infamous stalker angle in 2001.
Instead, Page signed on for the ride and ended up wrecking memories of his terrific WCW career by playing a creepy stalker character during a short-lived feud with The Undertaker. It did nothing for him, and it didn't even make sense when everybody knew he was married to "one of the most beautiful women ever" at the time (Kimberly).
If DDP had a do-over, he'd shake hands with everyone in the meeting and tell them to call him when they wanted to do "People's Champion vs. People's Champion" (Page vs. The Rock) on TV. That ballsy play might not have worked out either, but at least it would've saved Page from the indignity of the stalker gig.
You live and learn.
This experience taught DDP a valuable lesson, at least. Now, when he's in a business meeting and isn't feeling something, he never hesitates to cut off talks and try another approach later. He wishes he'd been able to do that 20 years ago.
