Ric Flair Comments On "Most Hurtful" WWE Moment
'Nature Boy' Ric Flair called this the "most hurtful" moment of his iconic career.
Ric Flair has called being pulled from WWE's Monday Night Raw opening "the most hurtful moment in [his] entire career".
The promotion took Flair's iconic "Woo!" out of the opening signature last September - that was a response to allegations made against the 'Nature Boy' in VICE's 'Plane Ride From Hell' episode of Dark Side Of The Ring.
Flair tweeted his joy upon finding out that he'd been reinstated to the opening package this past Monday night. In the same post, Ric described the pain he'd felt when WWE removed him from the vignette. He went on to thank Vince McMahon for "giving me back my dignity and my life".
The legend tagged both WWE's official account and Vinnie Mac in his tweet.
Ric last appeared on television as part of a storyline alongside his daughter Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans last year. The 16-time World Champion left the company in August 2021, and is currently scheduled to wrestle his final match ever at the upcoming Starrcast V event on 31 July.
There, he'll reportedly team with AEW's FTR vs. The Rock N' Roll Express and an unnamed partner.
