Rob Van Dam has revealed that long-time pal John Laurinaitis called him to share the news about WWE's plans to induct RVD into the 2021 Hall Of Fame.

During an interview with FOX Sports, Van Dam said that he grew close to Johnny when they toured Japan together between 1993-1997. Both men spent a lot of time chatting when they were on buses, in airports and sitting backstage in cold or hot (depending on the season) locker rooms.

So, Rob was thrilled that Laurinaitis was the one to dish the details about WWE's HOF - he described the phone call as "really cool".

Amazingly, Van Dam also refused to rule out a return to company programming as an active wrestler. He said that there are some "pros and cons to the thought", but admits that he can't get enough of live crowds chanting his name. Fans will be in attendance come WrestleMania 37 for the first time in over a year, and that's something Rob would like to experience again.

For now, he's just glad that an old buddy like Johnny Ace called him up to talk about induction.
