Two of the best tag teams on the planet will meet for the third time this year at a Ring of Honor PPV, as ROH Tag Team Champions FTR will defend their titles against former champs the Briscoe Brothers in a double dog collar match at ROH Final Battle this weekend.

The news came at the end of AEW Dynamite, where FTR came up just short in completing their belt collection against AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed. The Gunn Club, who have been a thorn in Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler's sides for some time, appeared onscreen backstage to announce the Briscoes' challenge. They pulled dog collars out of stockings to reveal the special stipulation for the two tag teams' latest confrontation.

FTR defeated the Briscoes at April's Supercard of Honor to capture the ROH tag titles, then defended them at July's Death Before Dishonor in a 2/3 falls match.

Despite now being part of all three PPVs this year of the Tony Khan-owned ROH, the Briscoes have not appeared on AEW television, likely due to Jay Briscoe's homophobic comments in 2013, for which he has apologized a few times.

FTR and the Briscoes were just named the #2 and #3 tag teams of the year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated, finishing behind WWE's The Usos in the PWI Tag Team 100 list. The two teams took to Twitter to take a couple of swipes at the rankings, so you can bet that they'll be looking Saturday to show why they should be higher on that list.
