ROH In Brief: 29/10/11 & 5/11/11 Recap

Note: These are €œcatch up€ reviews due to other commitments making me unable to watch either episode until now, as such they will be a brief summary rather than play by play recap) 29/10/11 We get a brief recap on last episode€™s main event and its time limit finish, then the intro. This episode was recorded in Louisville, Kentucky We get a continuation of Roderick Strong€™s campaign against Davey Richards, with a prelim video with Strong and his opponent for match one, Kyle O€™Riley. O€™Riley says hes being disrespectful, Strong says Team Richards goes from town to town not getting laid and that€™s pathetic. Nice. Match One: Roderick Strong w/ Truth Martini def. Kyle O€™Riley Before the match Martini makes the announcer introduce him as Strong€™s €œLife Intervention Expert, The Founder And Leader Of The House Of Truth, The TV, Super Duper, King Kong, Mega Mega Managerial Sensation, The One And Only Truth Martini.€ The 12 year old in me that refuses to grow up came out and I burst out laughing. Truth then went on commentary for the entire match. With the match over, Truth gets in the ring and talks smack to Kyle, creating a distraction for House Of Truth Member €œUnbreakable€ Michael Elgin to surprise attack O€™Riley. Tony Kozina and then Richards himself come in to try and help, but Strong and Elgin beat them down. Eddie Edwards comes in and changes the pace, then clean house. Back after the break and EMTs are seeing to , Kevin Kelly is standing with Jim Cornette, who fines Elgin, Martini and Elgin $20,000 each. Then we have an interruption from the two Kevin Steen crusaders. Cornette chastises them, and says ROH will not be doing business with him again. If he doesn't like thatm he can sue him. Inside Ring Of Honor focuses on who might be in the World Championship match at Final Battle 2011 and introduces Cedric Alexander and Caprice Coleman as a new tag team. Steve Corino joins the broadcast booth for the next match and talks about Kevin Steen until being cut off and told not to. Match Two: €œDominant Male€ Tomasso Ciampa w/The Embassy def. Alex Silva We get a recap of the controversial finish of the All Night Express/Brisco Brothers match before our main event. Match Three: The Briscos def. The All-Nigh Express for a World Tag Team Championship match at Final Battle 20115/11/11 We start with a recap of the Roderick Strong/Kyle O€™Riley Match. This episode was recorded in Louisville, Kentucky€again. Jim Cornette is in the ring to hype Final Battle 2011 and announces Eddie Edwards as the man to face World Champion Davey Richards. During the hype, Edwards hints that he has been working with a new trainer in preparation for the match (Spot the heel turn). Davey comes out, hypes the match and says next week they should take on Roderick Strong and Mike Elgin. Edwards says thats all well and good, but hes the next world champ. Heel turn imminent. Befre the match we get a recap of Edwards vs Mike Elgin for the Word Title shot, and then a backstage segment with Elgin and Truth Martini, with Martini more or less chastising him for last week. Pre-match introduction sees new roster member Shiloh Jonze talk about his opportunity tonight. Match One: "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin w/Truth Martini def. Shiloh Jonze Inside Ring Of Honor starts with the news that Kevin Steen will indeed be suing Jim Cornette over not being allowed to be a part of Ring Of Honor. We have a recap of last week's main event. Ring Of Honor's newest tag team, Cedric Alexander and Caprice Coleman, will be facing Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team in what is known as a Proving Ground match. The concept is anybody can challenge a champion to a time limit match. If they win or draw they are awarded a championship match. Match Two: Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team def.
