While we knew ahead of time that ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham would be in action at IMPACT Wrestling's Hard to Kill PPV, what we didn't know was that there would be a Ring of Honor invasion.

Following the ten-man Hardcore War contest, ROH stars PCO, Vincent, Matt Taven, and Mike and Mario Bennett all made their presence known. As this played out, the commentary team directly referred to all of this as an "invasion" - suggesting that we'll be seeing plenty more of these ROH names in IMPACT from here on out.

As for Gresham, he successfully retained the ROH World Title against Chris Sabin in a fantastic 13-minute bout that showcased the brilliance of the Octopus and also highlighted why Sabin has for so long been revered as such a phenomenal talent.

For Ring of Honor, the company is currently on hiatus until the second quarter of this year, with an April 2022 return planned at present. It was announced in October how ROH, as we know it, would be closing down and that talent would be able to seek work elsewhere - as shown by two-time ROH World Champion Jay Lethal signing with AEW, ROH Pure Champion Josh Woods competing on AEW Dark, ROH Tag Team Champions The Briscoe Brothers lining themselves up with FTR, and ROH Women's Champion Rok-C partaking in a recent WWE tryout.
