Rumour Killer On Ruby Riott Appearing At IMPACT Slammiversary
The former Ruby Riott isn't the scheduled mystery opponent for Deonna Purrazzo.
Ruby Riott, now known as Ruby Soho, will not be the mystery opponent for Deonna Purrazzo at IMPACT Wrestling's Slammiversary pay-per-view.
This comes from a new Fightful Select report, who report that while the precise details of Soho's no-compete clause haven't been revealed, no bookings have been publicly set for her either. Social media speculation had run rampant since the mystery opponent gimmick was confirmed for Deonna.
Released by WWE on 2 June, this ended the former Heidi Lovelace's time with WWE after four and a half years with the company. Although Ruby never tasted any championship gold during her time there, Ruby had a handful of marquee matches opposite the likes of Asuka and Ronda Rousey for the NXT and Raw Women's Championships, respectively.
At the time of writing, Soho hasn't currently been announced for any wrestling-related appearances.
Fightful Select's report also noted that the plan for Deonna's mystery opponent is someone not currently on the IMPACT roster. This rules out the possibility of a Su Yung return, although someone such as Chelsea Green or Mickie James - two other WWE releases - could easily make a return to the company.
