Shane 'Hurricane' Helms has signed a WWE Legends contract.

The former Cruiserweight, European, Hardcore, and World Tag Team Champion revealed as much via Twitter on Wednesday:-

I signed a WWE Legends deal so I guess that makes it official… I’m old.

An immensely popular WWE babyface after signing with WWE and taking on the 'Hurricane' gimmick in 2001, Helms has been in and out of the company in multiple roles over the past couple of decades. Most recently, he was reported to have been brought back as a producer in November 2020, having been furloughed from the position alongside dozens of other WWE staffers at the COVID-19 pandemic's onset.

Per Fightful Select, Helms' most recent production assignment saw him work on Rey and Dominik Mysterio vs. the Dirty Dawgs from this week's episode of Raw.

Whether or not the Legends contract means we'll be seeing more of The Hurricane on WWE television remains to be seen. Such deals allow for sporadic appearances at WWE's behest, though Helms' producer status wouldn't necessarily preclude such things anyway.
