Samoa Joe Says He WOULDN'T Walk Through The "Forbidden Door"

Samoa Joe works for just one company right now, and one company only: WWE.

Samoa Joe re-signed with WWE this past June. That put to bed any rumours about a jump to AEW, a return to ROH or maybe some work in IMPACT, New Japan or elsewhere; it's likely wrestling fans would've expected Joe to work some dates in Japan had he signed on the dotted line with All Elite.

He wouldn't have been interested in that.

Joe told 'SO CATCH' that the current chatter about wrestling's "forbidden door" doesn't interest him at all. In fact, he'd much prefer to avoid the "convoluted mess" of working for multiple companies at the same time. Rather definitely, the Samoan said, "I work for a company".

That company, at least for now, is WWE.

Joe understands why fans want to see crossover bouts happen, but used a footballing analogy to explain his disinterest. He said that you wouldn't see Lionel Messi "doing day shifts over at Manchester United" in between games for PSG. That's a fair point, and brilliantly sums up why the new NXT Champion wants to concentrate on the task in front of him.

He's paid to wrestle for WWE. End of story. If he was in AEW, they'd get his full focus.
