Scott Hall Believes Sting Never Looked Comfortable In WWE
Hall reveals what went on the day of WrestleMania 31...
WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall believes his former WCW colleague Sting never looked comfortable as part of WWE. Speaking to Extra Mustard, the former NWO member believes the first entrant into the HOF's class of 2016 was never a good fit as part of the company's roster because he didn't know 'the boys;' while he also believes the spinal injury The Stinger suffered in the match with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions "answered a prayer for him."
I was there and obviously involved in his match at WrestleMania last year. Were rehearsing the match in Cali last year at Levi Stadium, and its the Kliq and the New Age Outlaws out there, and we all know each other. And then theres Sting, who doesnt know anybody. Hes an outsider. I just think he never felt comfortable there. Being hurt was answered prayer for himjust let it end."Hall then ran us through what happened in the hours before WrestleMania 31 where Sting lost to Triple H - and Hall interfered as part of the NWO. Razor can't believe Sting came in and agreed to losing his opening match in the biggest wrestling company on the Grandest Stage of them All.
"We didnt get anything done at the rehearsal the night before, so WrestleMania day, there were tents in the parking lot set up with rings for rehearsal. So were all in there again, and Im next to Hulk on the ring apron, and Triple H is going over the match and then he goes, OK, hell break the sledgehammer, and then Ill hit him with the sledgehammer, and cover him, 1-2-3. "I looked at Hulk, and Hulk looked at me, and I was thinking, Sting, what kind of lawyer do you have, bro? Youre coming in the door doing a job? You werent even guaranteed to go over? Thats Vince just reminding you who won, even if hes going to make money the other way.Hall also believes The Icon being a WCW creation blighted his run before it even started. Sting didn't gain a big, clean win in any of his matches, losing to The Game and Rollins at PPVs. But he did manage to defeat The Big Show via DQ on RAW, so it all evens itself out... You need to remember that Vince is never going to go with something he didnt create," Hall said.
