1. The Steiner Brothers vs. Kensuki Sasaki & Hiroshi Hase - WCW vs. NJPW Starrcade 1991
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2rjil_04-hiroshi-hase-kensuke-sasaki-vs-t_sport?search_algo=2 For a long time, this match was known as a sort of gateway drug for a lot of American fans who had yet to experience the Japanese wrestling scene. Wrestling journalists who touted the greatness of puroresu now had a match to point interested fans toward that blended the American and Japanese styles. The Steiners do what they do best here, which is suplex people into numbness. Hase and Sasaki are equally stiff and give it back in kind. The Steiners usually meshed well with strong style opponents and this is a perfect example of why. Some call this match overrated (it won the Wrestling Obersever's Match of the Year award), a spotfest and lacking in story, and it doesn't hold up quite as well today. But when you consider this match is nearly 25 years old it's easy to see why it received the credit that it does.
