Seth Rollins Returning To WWE On SmackDown's New Year Special
1 January will mark Seth's comeback and a happy new year for SmackDown's heel ranks.
WWE announced on last night's Christmas episode of SmackDown that Seth Rollins will return to the fold on next week's New Year's special show.
There's no word yet on exactly what Seth will be doing, but his presence will be welcome; there's a dearth of top line heels on the SmackDown roster (beyond Roman Reigns), and it's not out of the question that Rollins could sow some seeds for an Intercontinental Title sprint against new champ Big E.
That has WrestleMania 37 written all over it, if it happens.
1 January will mark Seth's first WWE appearance since Survivor Series on 22 November. There, he sacrificed himself for "the greater good" in one of the traditional eliminations bouts before going home and helping Becky Lynch welcome the couple's first child on 7 December.
It's been a busy spell for Mr. 'Messiah' then.
Another possible option for WWE would be announcing that Rollins is in the men's Royal Rumble match. Daniel Bryan recently declared himself for the 2021 melee, and the company will be keen to beef out the ranks further.
Seth would be a perfect fit for that.
