Seth Rollins returned to WWE as part of tonight's men's Royal Rumble match.

'The Messiah' joined the bout at number 29 and entered a characteristically strong Rumble showing. Eliminating Christian, Riddle, Daniel Bryan, and assisting Edge in getting rid of Braun Strowman, he made it to the final three until he was put over the top rope by 'The Rated R Superstar,' who won the bout after taking out the returning Randy Orton.

Seth was decked out in full 'Messiah' garb, including his single glove, so it looks like the SmackDown star will be resuming that gimmick.

This was the first time Rollins had been seen since Survivor Series 2020 last November, when he sacrificed himself to the greater good and took a wilful elimination from the men's bout. His absence was scheduled ahead of time. With his fiancee, Becky Lynch, giving birth to their first child in early December, Rollins was always going to take at least a couple of months off - and he did.

It'll be interesting to see what's for Rollins, as he appeared to have wrapped his business with Murphy and the Mysterio family prior to taking his break.
