Several AEW Wrestlers To Miss Dynamite After Getting COVID-19
Here's who WON'T be in the house for this week's AEW Dynamite debut on TBS...
AEW Dynamite officially debuts on TBS tonight, though the show will be without The Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler.
Cutler and Matt Jackson have both tested positive for COVID-19. As a close contact of his brother, Nick Jackson will also have to miss the show, having recently spent 18 hours with the duo.
Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Online/The Wrestling Observer confirmed the positive tests on Tuesday. The Young Bucks, meanwhile, announced that Matt has COVID in the most Young Bucks way imaginable: by updating their Twitter bio.
Nick battled COVID for several months in 2020, having claimed that he was bed-ridden for three weeks and lost his senses of taste and smell for more than two months. Here's hoping that Matt and Cutler's cases aren't severe - and that both are able to mount full recoveries before long.
From a logistical standpoint, the bright side of this is that neither Matt nor Cutler were booked to compete on this week's episode of Dynamite. This should prevent a widescale card reshuffle, despite the ongoing storyline with The Elite, Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O'Reilly following Kenny Omega's injury-related hiatus.
