Several Top Free Agents Backstage At AEW Dynamite
Sought-after free agents and a nostalgic favourite were in Duluth, GA last night.
Jonathan Gresham, Matt Taven, and Glacier were backstage at last night’s AEW Dynamite show in Duluth, Georgia, reports PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.
There is currently no word on why, exactly, the trio were visiting the show, though Gresham and Taven are particularly interesting. Both have been Ring Of Honor stalwarts for several years, but recent confirmation that the Sinclair Broadcasting-helmed group was releasing all contracted talent ahead of a four-month hiatus frees them up to work for other promotions.
Gresham has been featured particularly prominently over the past 12 months. Considered one of the best technical wrestlers in the world, he concluded a 317-day run as ROH Pure Champion in September and is now set to challenge World Champion Bandido at Final Battle on 11 December.
Taven, meanwhile, is a former ROH World Champion who recently won the company’s Tag Team Titles with long-time ally Mike Bennett. He worked his first match with the promotion back in 2009 - and has been there ever since.
Glacier, meanwhile, is a close friend of the Rhodes family and has been backstage at multiple shows in the past. Double Or Nothing 2019 saw him compete in the first ever Casino Battle Royal.
