After plentiful rumours and teases of just such a match happening, it looks as if Shaquille O’Neal may soon be stepping into an AEW ring to go face-to-face with Cody Rhodes.

In the first hour of this week’s AEW Dynamite, a video from the AEW Awards aired of Shaq calling Cody out for a meeting in March.

From there, Cody was brought out to the ring by Tony Schiavone, with the American Nightmare admitting that there’s nothing he’d like more than he and his wife Brandi teaming up to face Shaq and Jade Cargill at AEW Revolution on 7 March.

While that match is unable to happen right now due to Brandi being pregnant, Cody sought the advice of Arn Anderson on what to do next. Double A then introduced Red Velvet, who cut a promo on Cargill – citing how she was going to stir Jade’s “bitch ass up”.

The tag match itself has yet to be formally confirmed, but the direction of AEW television and the comments of the AEW commentary team certainly indicate that we’ll be getting Cody Rhodes & Red Velvet vs. Shaquille O’Neal & Jade Cargill come Revolution.
