Shayna Baszler "felt mixed" about her Raw debut on 10 February 2020.

During an interview with Corey Graves for the announcer's 'After The Bell' podcast, Shayna said that she was a bit confused when WWE told her she'd be attacking Becky Lynch and then biting her neck in-ring. That vampire-like presentation wasn't something Baszler had been doing on NXT.

Before working the segment though, Shayna thought back to a conversation she'd had with Kevin Owens at the WWE Performance Center. He was already on the main roster by that point, but told a fascinated Baszler that he'd had trouble introducing himself to the casual WWE audience on Raw and SmackDown in 2015.

KO said most fans don't know who the NXT roster are, which is a bit of a stumbling block, and so it's important to do something shocking immediately that grabs their attention. He confronted John Cena and Shayna...bit Becky Lynch.

Baszler reasoned with herself that people would be talking about the incident on social media for days afterwards. That was all WWE wanted, and she was cool with the attention if it meant she was taken seriously.
