There are already nine matches booked for SummerSlam (and the two-hour-long kickoff show), but one more was added on Raw when General Manager Mick Foley added Cesaro versus Sheamus to the card. The catch is that their bout will the be the opener in a best of seven series.

Cesaro and Sheamus have been feuding since the WWE draft assigned them both to Smackdown. Cesaro was open about his disappointment, both with his low draft number (he was taken 28th overall) and the fact that he was on the brand that he thought would be less wrestling-oriented and more rife with McMahon drama. When Sheamus got face-to-face with Foley on the August 1 Raw and voiced frustration with being underutilized, the GM booked him in a match against Cesaro.

Cesaro won, guaranteeing him a shot at the United States Championship. Still, the two faced off again on the August 8 Raw, with Cesaro coming out victorious once again. That earned him a match with Rusev later in the broadcast, which "The Swiss Superman" lost when Sheamus interfered.
