Shelton Benjamin Signs New "Multi-Year" WWE Deal

Raw's peripheral star is here to stay.

Shelton Benjamin Aleister Black

Shelton Benjamin revealed on Lilian Garcia's 'Chasing Glory' podcast that he recently signed a new "multi-year" contract with WWE.

Since returning to the company in March 2017, Benjamin has been used as a peripheral figure on television - after working as Chad Gable's tag-team partner on SmackDown, Shelton jumped to Raw and has latterly been booked as borderline enhancement talent.

That seems set to continue for at least another few years.

Benjamin's last appearance on Raw was a defeat to rising star Aleister Black on the 6 January episode. Before that, he hadn't wrestled on the show since losing to Ricochet on 14 October 2019. Shelton did work the men's Royal Rumble match and has become a regular on Main Event though, for what that's worth.

The former three-time Intercontinental, two-time Tag and one-time United States Champion isn't exactly going places in WWE, but he's the kind of veteran the company should keep around. At 44, Shelton is still in prime physical shape, knows the system inside and out and could be used for occasional seminars at the Performance Center if needed.

Ain't no stoppin' him now (sorry).
