Shinsuke Nakamura Said To Be Making Main Event Money In WWE

Shinsuke Nakamura might be headed to NXT to start his WWE career, but he's not being paid like your typical NXT performer. According to a report this week from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the former New Japan Pro Wrestling star is said to be making main event level money with his new WWE deal. Though the exact amount of his contract wasn't unveiled, most main event level talents in WWE make in the high six figures or low seven figures. It's doubtful Nakamura would have came to the United States and abandoned his native Japan without a significant payday, so the report on his contract amount isn't all that unexpected. As one of the faces of New Japan Pro Wrestling, and arguably the best wrestler in the world, Nakamura's departure to America earlier this year shocked fans across the globe. It's still unknown how long Nakamura will spend wrestling for the NXT brand, though he's expected to have a somewhat significant run there before being brought up to the main roster. This will undoubtedly make him the highest paid full time NXT performer in the company's history, and if you're worried that he won't be utilized on the main roster, the dollar amount in his contract would say otherwise. "The King Of Strong Style" will make his debut in a WWE ring as part of NXT TakeOver: Dallas during WrestleMania weekend on Friday, April 1. At the event, which will air live on the WWE network, Nakamura will take on Sami Zayn.
