Shinsuke Nakamura is heading to WrestleMania 34.

'The King Of Strong Style' won last night's men's Royal Rumble, eliminating Roman Reigns following an electrifying closing stretch. Though close to elimination several times, Nakamura hung on, eventually throwing 'The Guy' out following a stiff running kick.

The former NXT Champion's win drew a monstrous pop from the Philadelphia crowd, who'd showered Reigns with nuclear heat throughout, and were completely behind Nakamura. Afterwards, Shinsuke was asked whether he'd challenge SmackDown's AJ Styles, or Raw's Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34. His choice? 'The Phenomenal One.'

Fans have been longing for this bout from the moment Nakamura signed with WWE in January 2016. Finally, two years later, it's about to become a reality.

Shinsuke's victory capped off an impressive all-round performance from the Japanese star, who entered at number 14. His run lasted just over 44 minutes in total, during which he eliminated Sami Zayn, John Cena, and Reigns. He was so over, the fans were signing his theme long after his entrance, and their support never wavered.

After years of predictable, uninspiring winners, Nakamura's triumph was a refreshing change, and the perfect conclusion to a fantastic Rumble match.
