Should This Match Headline WWE WrestleMania 39?
A current WWE champ thinks their match is perfect for WrestleMania 39's headline spot.
Reigning SmackDown Women's Champion and revamped babyface Charlotte Flair believes she and Rhea Ripley should headline one of the nights on WWE's upcoming WrestleMania 39 weekender.
Flair told 'Les Anti-Pods De La Lutte' that both women can call upon their prior 'Mania 36 battle to help sell this story as a years-in-the-making epic fans need to see. Back then, many were left frustrated that Flair beat Ripley to become the new NXT Women's Champ - the fact that happened in front of exactly 0 fans at the Performance Center also added to the annoyance online.
Rhea is still waiting for her revenge moment on Charlotte, and Flair thinks that's the ideal way to frame this year's match between Royal Rumble winner and reigning champ. It will, however, be interesting to see how WWE deals with Charlotte's awkward face alignment.
That hasn't really been working on SmackDown since she returned to action.
Regardless, Flair reckons she and Ripley should be trusted to main event either night one or night two of 'Mania 39 this year. Definitively, she stated that the match/feud is "a main event story".
