Slammiversary XV: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

Though the current transitional period as Impact Wrestling merges with GFW has been undeniably confusing to fans, Slammiversary XV nevertheless made the best of an awkward situation by focusing on delivering quality wrestling above all else.

While it wasn't an Impact PPV for the ages, this year's Slammiversary was still a consistently solid show with one excellent match and not a single stinker among the bunch (take note, WWE).

It remains to be seen exactly how this merger will pan out in the long run, though initial reports suggest that Impact will re-brand as GFW in the near-future in order to distance itself from the various PR issues associated with both the Impact and TNA names.

Regardless of how it works out, they've proven beyond any doubt that they can still put on an entertaining three-hour show, so if the re-branding potentially leads to a more regular PPV schedule in the future, then it'll surely be for the best.

As the end of one era and the beginning of another, Slammiversary XV has certainly built a fine foundation moving forward...

8. No Disqualifications: Josh Mathews & Scott Steiner Vs. Joseph Park & Jeremy Borash

Result: Borash splashes Mathews into a pile of thumb tacks for the win (10:53).

Rating: Of course nobody expected a great or even good wrestling match here, but at least it was fast-paced and overbooked into oblivion, as it absolutely should've been.

The action quickly spilled outside and, before you know it, the scene shifted to a pre-taped segment that, while clearly low-budget and hastily thrown together, benefited massively from the Shark Boy and Father James Mitchell cameos.

The Abyss return was fun, if predictable, and let's face it, who doesn't love seeing Josh Mathews get slammed into some tacks? The match did its thing, kept things chugging along and then got out of dodge. That was enough. 6/10
