Small Increase In This Week's WWE SmackDown Overnight Ratings
How did this week's WWE SmackDown perform in the overnight ratings?
According to Showbuzz daily, this week's Friday Night SmackDown on FOX brought in 2.153 million viewers on average overnight.
Hour one of Friday's blue show drew 2.200 million viewers, whereas the second hour saw the total number of viewers drop to 2.105 million. The show also managed to come away with an average of 0.6 in the ever-important 18-49 demographic. This means SmackDown will have secured #3 place on the night in the category, behind Shark Tank in number one with a 0.7.
If the WWE show's overnight number does hold up, it'll mean that this week's episode saw a 1.6% increase in viewership, up from last week's 2.120 million average, and also an improvement on the prior week's 18-49 demo score; up from 0.56.
Those who chose to tune in to the Friday night delight were treated to a stellar showcase bout between Daniel Bryan and Cesaro, another compelling performance from Shinsuke Nakamura during his match against Jey Uso, Bayley challenging Bianca Belair to an obstacle course battle next week, and Kevin Owens being revealed as Adam Pearce's surprise replacement for his Last Man Standing Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns at the 2021 Royal Rumble.
With next week's edition of SmackDown shaping up to be yet another entertaining offering from the blue brand, WWE will be confident the show can maintain this ratings form coming into one of their most marketable events of the year.
