Sonya Deville was "terminated" from her role as a WWE official during last night's episode of Raw, with now-former cohort Adam Pearce delivering the news.

The demotion came following a backstage segment. Deville, who has spent the past few months abusing her power (primarily through a lengthy feud with SmackDown's Naomi), cut Pearce off before he could break what was presented as important news. More concerned with her match, Sonya hit the ring to face a mystery opponent, only for Pearce to walk out, inform Deville that she had been removed from power following an investigation, and leave the former MMA fighter upset ahead of her bout.

Deville's opponent turned out to be the returning Alexa Bliss. Not seen in WWE since February, Alexa capitalised on Sonya's shaken-up state to beat her in around 40 seconds, scoring the pinfall following Twisted Bliss.

Sonya had served as a WWE authority figure since January 2021, having used the role to facilitate her return to the promotion following her harrowing, real-life home invasion in August 2020. She has since returned to the ring and is now effectively a full-timer between the ropes after initially keeping only a sporadic schedule.

Now, it looks like wrestling is all she'll be doing on WWE television.
