SPOILERS: Major Returns Set For WWE SmackDown?

Potential SPOILERS for WWE SmackDown, which could host two major comebacks.

WWE SmackDown 2022

Comeback season is currently rolling through WWE - and tonight's SmackDown tapings could host the promotion's next set of major returns.

Fightful Select notes that having missed the entire month so far, Xavier Woods is on the verge of coming back to television. He is currently set to appear on tonight's tapings in Detroit, Michigan, which will see WWE tape two full SmackDown episodes before heading to the United Kingdom for Clash at the Castle on 3 September.

Woods has been shelved since falling afoul of the Viking Raiders onscreen, with Erik and Ivar's weapon-assisted beatdown temporarily putting him off television. Xavier's New Day partner Kofi Kingston has kept the feud going onscreen while Woods has been absent.

In addition to Xavier, WWE Hall of Famer JBL is expected to be involved in the tapings in some form or another. A former wrestler and commentator, there is currently no word on what JBL's role will be, though further information may be forthcoming before the tapings commence.

SmackDown spoilers for next week's show will likely become widely available following tonight's Detroit marathon. Clash at the Castle takes place in Cardiff, Wales next Saturday.
