Trent Seven debuted for AEW at last night's Rampage taping in Cedar Park, Texas, mounting a failed challenge for Orange Cassidy's All-Atlantic Championship.

The former WWE star was introduced by Kip Sabian, whom, it was announced during last night's Dynamite, would hand-pick Cassidy's opponent for Rampage. Taped after Dynamite on Wednesday, Seven's Rampage debut (along with the rest of the show) will air on Friday.

Seven vs. Cassidy featured an interruption from The Butcher, The Blade, and The Bunny, who came out to brawl with Best Friends while the clash was ongoing. To finish, Cassidy hit the Beach Break on Seven, landing the pinfall. Sabian, Seven, and Penelope Ford then attacked Cassidy after the bell before home-state hero Dustin Rhodes ran down for the save.

Trent has been a free agent since 18 August, when WWE announced him as one of many cuts following the NXT UK brand's closure. Comfortably the biggest name amongst the release, Seven was let go while his tag team partner, Tyler Bate, and others were retained and sent to the United States.

A leading figure on the British independent scene pre-WWE, Seven's biggest highlight in Stamford was a reign as NXT Tag Team Champion with Bate in 2018. Later, the duo had a 155-day run with the NXT UK equivalents.
