Steve Austin says filming commitments and an inability to free up enough time on his schedule to properly train for a wrestling match prevented him from doing something in-ring at WrestleMania 39 earlier this month.

The WWE legend told WESH2 that company chiefs wanted him for the weekender, but he wasn't able to nail down enough time to workout and get in ring shape. So, he politely declined, but refuses to rule out ever working a match for the promotion again.

Austin did enjoy coming full circle against Kevin Owens at 'Mania 39. That pay-per-view was in Dallas, which is where the future 'Stone Cold' cut his teeth as a young rookie, so it was personally satisfying for him to put a bow on things in Texas.

Is another match incoming though? On that, Austin said something rather interesting. "If the stars align, anything could happen". In other words, he won't say for definite that he's never wrestling another match. It'd just have to be something pretty special, and the kind of situation that piques his interest enough to make getting into ring shape worthwhile.
