After recent online rumours initially suggested that former WCW Champion Sting could appear at the upcoming Double or Nothing PPV, it now looks like we may have to wait a little longer for the 'Icon's AEW debut, according to PWInsider.

Many seem to think that Sting will be the one to present either Cody Rhodes or Lance Archer with the TNT Championship at the event, but PWInsider has confirmed that multiple sources have denied that Sting will be present on the night.

Sting is no longer with WWE after leaving the company earlier this week, but the WWE Hall of Famer could still do business with the company going forward.

However, a potential appearance in AEW started doing the rounds as soon as Mattel decided to remove Sting's action figures from a new line of WWE toys. He also had a brief conversation with Lance Archer on Twitter, which 'The American Nightmare' spotted and replied to with a set of eyes.

'The Icon' wouldn't be the first veteran to pop up on an AEW show, as Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, Arn Anderson and Jake 'The Snake' Roberts have all appeared on the product since its inception last year.
