Sting Not Expected Back In WWE Until Fast Lane PPV
We may not see Sting on Raw soon, but Fast Lane is likely.
It was announced during this week's unique version of Raw that Triple H has challenged Sting for a face to face meeting at WWE's new PPV Fast Lane on February 22nd in Memphis. It's expected that Sting will accept the challenge because that's what babyfaces do. What's interesting about it is that this is the first time that Sting has been advertised for a WWE event. Will it make fans more willing to watch? Time will tell on that one. There were rumors that Sting was going to be brought into Raw this past Monday for the show after the Royal Rumble because that has traditionally been one of the biggest Raw episodes of the year in terms of viewers. The show ended up being filmed from WWE Studious in Stamford, Connecticut so WWE wasn't going to be able to fly Sting in on Monday afternoon anyway. The current reports that are out now on WrestlingInc state that Sting isn't expected to be on WWE TV again until the Fast Lane PPV when he goes face to face with Triple H. That confrontation is going to lead to a WrestleMania match between them. It's smart to keep Sting off television because it will make his appearance mean that much more. It's a priority for WWE to make Fast Lane feel like a major show. This is the first time they're using that name for a PPV, so they probably want it to be seen as a major event. Holding off Sting for that show is a smart move. The thing with Sting is he's not at a point where he's going to have matches on television or maybe any other show. They have to make sure they use his appearances wisely. Since a guy like Brock Lesnar isn't on the show it makes a lot of sense because Sting will be considered a big deal. As is always the case with anything in WWE, plans can always change. Perhaps they will put him on a Raw leading up to Fast Lane if they feel like it would help the build, but if not then we will have to wait until February 22nd and see the legendary Stinger there.
